Aquarius Park Brahman Stud co-principles John Magner and Fiiona Brierley began the stud in 1990 in the Casino district. In July 2005 they relocated to Fineflower (60kms from Grafton) to continue the expansion of the stud herd.
To date cattle have not been shown. There has been an emphasis on commercially important traits and raising stock under commercial conditions to ensure bulls can go out to perform the job required of them - getting cows in calf without looking back.
The approach to Brahman breeding is to continually look for ways to improve the overall quality and efficiency in the herd, whilst breeding easy care cattle that can handle most environments. Performance and the ability to produce offspring in harsh environments as well as the capacity to excel on soft country have always been important considerations.
From 1995 polling has been a focus in the selection process, with polled or scurred bulls sought and used extensively in the herd. The focus has been on breeding grey polled stock however a small number of red cattle have been retained.
